about Double t ranch

All programs at Double T Ranch are facilitated and taught by your very own team.

Your support team is made up of both humans who are trained and certified from a top Equine Assisted Learning training facility, The Equine Connection.  These humans also function as your event facilitator.  The human's role is to ask you open and probing questions and to support you in seeing things from a new perspective

Your teachers at Double T Ranch are our horses!!  As prey animals with a distinct ability to desensitize themselves, horses have the ability to read and compare our actions to our intentions.  If these are not in alignment, our teachers will immediately let us know that we have something to work on!

Learn more about why we use horses in the "What We Do" section of our website.

The reality of Double T Ranch has come to life through the passion and experience of 2 people following their dreams.  Learn more about how we got here and what makes us unlike any other equine facility around!

todd mcneice

Riding atop a grain truck, Todd’s dreams began.  The smells of nature, the feeling of freedom and the love of the outdoors, the McNeice farm was where Todd’s roots began to spread. These roots continued to flourish throughout the many summers spent at his aunt’s farm, playing games with his siblings and cousins & learning to drive out in the field.

Todd’s passion for horses has been a lifelong love, starting as a young boy. Todd spent many hours watching Roy Rogers and his best friend “Trigger”, dreaming of being that “cowboy” with a beautiful horse at his side. As a child, Todd had the opportunity to take part in trail rides, and this kept the dream alive of one day having his very own

“Trigger”.  It would have been a great story had it all happened that way, but life doesn’t always give you what you want when you want it.

As Todd entered his mid-teens, he made some bad choices and went down the road of alcoholism. That all stopped in 2002 with the love and support of an amazing family and wanting more for himself and his kids. Todd now works with recovering addicts and

enjoys speaking and telling his story at treatment centres. Todd’s career has been filled with roles of leadership and management. He excelled at these because of his ability to see the best in people, and then to help them see it in themselves. While working this career, Todd also began to study Judo and Japanese Ju-Jitsu, something that he loved and excelled at. Todd achieved a blue belt in Judo and a purple belt in Ju-Jitsu, then transitioned his martial arts career into his next passion – MMA (mixed martial arts). Todd fought 3 professional fights and then went on to travel internationally coaching professional fighters.

In 2014 Todd met the woman of his dreams, Tanya - it was love at first sight. They lived by common values and morals & wanted the same things in life. Most specifically, they both loved the country and horses, so in 2015 they bought their dream ranch. A beautiful piece of land with their home and horses. In 2016 Todd married his partner and best friend, and Double T Ranch (Todd and Tanya) was born.

tANYA mcneice

Proudly born and raised in Saskatchewan, Tanya may have technically been a city girl, but was always a country girl at heart. The relaxed pace of life in rural Saskatchewan was something Tanya really loved with every opportunity she had to experience it.

Whether it be riding atop the grain truck at her uncle’s farm, fishing with her family or spending as many weekends and summers at her friends family farm riding horses, Tanya always felt more like herself where she could roam free and interact with nature.

Tanya’s teen years have been described as “restless” in that she made some choices that took her down some difficult roads. Tanya is grateful for these now as they are all

a part of who she is today. All roads lead to the present. Over the years, Tanya’s career took her on an exciting journey in Information Technology where she had the opportunity to be a leader of teams, people and objectives. Her experiences taught her that she loved to help others find the best in themselves and support them in overcoming limiting beliefs. This passion is what prompted Tanya to attain her official Life Coach certification in the International Coaching Federation. Being part of the client’s big “aha” moments was inspiring for Tanya.

When Tanya met the love of her life, Todd, they quickly learned they both had a passion for horses & dogs and wanted to live outside of the city.  So – together they promptly made their dream come true. Once living at their dream ranch, taking part in more than just “riding” the horses for fun, Tanya had the opportunity to hear the horses speak in ways only they can. They taught her things she could never dream a horse could understand. Patience, a quiet mind, communication, and so much more.

It is these lessons that have encouraged Tanya and Todd to share this gift with those not fortunate enough to share their life with these majestic teachers.

We have been trained by the world renowned Equine Connection - The Academy of Equine Assisted Learning Inc, who certify all over the world through the Academy of Equine Assisted Learning BuildingBlock™ course. You will see Equine Connection instructors in the videos provided, these will give a better understanding of the value of our programs and workshops.

our TEACHERS

Although we have skills and lessons and people around us who are incredibly talented at communicating with horses and people to work together, our experience has shown us very clearly that the real teachers in all of these adventures are the horses.  No matter the discipline or skill level, our horses are constantly teaching us about them, ourselves & eachother to help us be better versions of ourselves!

JOE

I’m a fun-loving, adventurous guy with endless curiosity — and personality! I love being around people, but I admit I have a shy side.

Courage is something I’m working on, but if you take the time to get to know me, and you earn my trust, I promise you, we’ll be friends for life.

EQUINE ASSISTED LEARNING TEACHER

CHICO

My kind and gentle ways just seem to put people at ease. (Or maybe they’re just mesmerized by my glorious mane!)

I love affection, but I have no problem being clear about my boundaries and needs — that’s something most humans could stand to get better at, isn’t it?

EQUINE ASSISTED LEARNING TEACHER

sam

I loved racing, but now that I'm retired.  I can't just stand around looking handsome all day.  I need some hobbies!

Don't let my size intimidate you.  I'm a real softie with so much I'd love to share if you'll let me.

Hey! What if I taught you horse stuff and you taught me yoga?  Deal?!?

EQUINE ASSISTED LEARNING TEACHER

Ranger

The name's Ranger, but I'm no Lone Ranger.  There's nothing I love more than leading a strong team to get the job done.

Call me old school, but colts these days don't know the meaning of hard work.

No video games for me.  Let's get 'er done!

EQUINE ASSISTED LEARNING TEACHER

Juno

Hi. I'm Juno.  Didn't Ju-no that already since it says it right there? LOL!

I may be little in size, but I'm big in personality!

Ranch work is great, but my dream is to be a comedian because I'm always... wait for it... horsing around!  (I'm here all week!!)
